This past Friday, Luke & I went on a date :) At the end of the summer, we had brunch down the street from a restaurant that was still in construction. We walked past & thought, hmm, we better keep this place in mind, it looks like it's gonna be good! Fast forward a few months, we somehow managed to remember this place & now we're going out there for date night!
Southland Whiskey Kitchen is an upscale southern-barbecue-meets-whiskey-bar. When we looked at the menu the night before we had already (& rather quickly) picked out what we wanted. We shared fried green tomatoes, Luke had a catfish po boy & I had the pulled pork sandwich. All was amazing. They even make their own barbecue sauces (that you can buy). I'm definitely coming back for the gold (Carolina style sauce, my fav). If you live in or around Portland, you should probably check it out. We'll be back sometime & probably soon!
